Scope
This policy covers personal information collected through resourceexplorer.com.au and associated subdomains. Resource Explorer is operated under the Australian Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).
What we collect
We collect only what we need to provide the service:
- Account data: email address (and the OAuth provider, if you sign in via Google).
- Session cookies: Supabase authentication cookies that keep you signed in.
- Preferences cookies: theme (light/dark) and hero-rotator state, stored in your browser’s
localStorage. - Server logs: Vercel platform logs (IP address, user-agent, request URL) for operational monitoring; retained per Vercel’s standard log retention.
We do not run third-party analytics, behavioural tracking, or advertising pixels at this time.
How we use it
- To provide and maintain the service.
- To authenticate you and keep your session active.
- To respond to enquiries you send via info@resourceexplorer.com.au.
- To detect and address abuse, fraud, or technical issues.
Disclosure
We do not sell personal information. We disclose data only to: (a) service providers necessary to operate the platform (Supabase, Vercel, Resend), under contractual confidentiality and data-processing terms; (b) legal authorities where required by Australian law.
Retention
Account data is retained while your account is active and for a reasonable period after closure to comply with legal and audit obligations. Server logs are retained per Vercel’s standard log retention. You may request earlier deletion at any time, subject to legal record-keeping obligations.
Your rights
Under the APPs you have the right to access the personal information we hold about you, request correction of inaccurate data, request deletion (subject to legal obligations), and lodge a complaint with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC).
